I have been a fan of RSS subscription software for a while now. I used GoogleReader a whole bunch when I used to have a desk job. It was great, I would spend most of my day at work just navigating through all of the latest news stories that had been posted overnight. Any time a new story broke, I would see a new item number highlighted, and BAM, I would be reading the most recent topic available.
Of course, when you can spend 5-7 hours a day keeping up with a tool like this, things work great. Over the weekend, though, I would get caught up doing other things, or would willfully force myself away from the computer, and when I would check my subscription feeder on Monday morning, I would have over 1,000 unread items! Where to even begin!?
My more recent experiences with RSS feeds and subscriptions have been much better. I only subscribe to about 12 of my favorite websites. I've also separated them into different categories, depending on the subject areas they cover. Here is a link to mypublic Bloglines.com account: http://www.bloglines.com/public/TJEngel
